Let's Kick Off the Challenge!

So, to kick off our 100 books challenge, here are some of the books I have read so far this year:

Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents–Pete Souza. A series of tweets and pictures by a former White House photographer contrast two markedly different presidencies, the Obama and Trump administrations.

The Way to the Stars–Una McCormack. Based on the popular CBS All Access series, Star Trek: Discovery, this novel takes a look at the events that have defined the early years of one of the series’ most interesting characters: Ensign Sylvia Tilly.

The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle–Stuart Turton. The protagonist of this story must relive the same day over and over, each time in the body of someone else. The loop will continue until he solves the murder of the titular character.
Washington Black–Esi Edugyan. This Scotiabank Giller Prize-winning novel examines the life of a slave as he forges a new life and examines what freedom truly means.

Us Against You–Fredrik Backman. The sequel to 2016’s highly acclaimed novel, Beartown (another novel I have read and recommend), this novel likewise focuses on hockey and whether a game can bring the community together again in the face of numerous tragedies.

Stay tuned for Caroline's first reads of the challenge!! - Jonathan
