‘A Tale of Two Lakes:  The 2008 and 2009 Archaeological Surveys of Buck and Touchwood Lakes’
This session with speaker Dan Meyer, will present the information recorded during the Archaeological Inventory Surveys of Lakes in 2008 and 2009 by Lifeways of Canada Limited on behalf of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation and the Archaeological Survey of Alberta.  During these intensive survey programs of lakes in the Boreal-Parkland transition zone and in the Boreal Forest, a total of more than 3,000 shovel tests resulted in the recording and assessment of 70 archaeological sites, many of them massive multi-component campsites.
