Each Thursday this summer we'll be getting away from digital screens and heading outside to explore. We will observe the world around us, make nature crafts, and play outdoor games.
Children in grades 1-5 are welcome to attend.

Rain or shine, we will be outside. Please make sure that participants have appropriate outerwear, sunscreen, and water.
We will meet in the children's department before the start of the program.

July 6
Explore the outdoors in our immediate vicinity with a nature walk around the library and outdoor games. Led by our special guest, Children’s Librarian, Jenny Cofell.

July 13
Learn some easy-peasy gardening by making local wildflower seed-bombs. Then use sidewalk chalk to draw every flower you can think of and make our very own beautiful flower garden!
July 20
It’s time to find some feathered friends! Join our special guests from the Helen Schuler Nature Centre for birding fun.
July 27
How our environment influenced our past. Join us for a local history walk with special guest, Belinda Crowson, from the Galt Museum

August 3
Explore the world beneath our feet! We’ll find and observe our insect companions in their own environment.

August 10
Summer programs are ending! Join us for a picnic in the greenspace for our last Dirt Day Thursday. We’ll play games, enjoy snacks, and make bird feeders so our feathered friends can eat too.
