Wednesdays – Babes in the Library

Rhymes, tickles, bounces, and songs suitable for infants up to 18 months and their caregivers. Drop-in children’s programs start at 10:00 am in the Friends Place Meeting Room. Siblings are welcome!

 Do you need help to write a letter to your child's teacher, fill out a form, or send an email? Do you need help to understand documents you get in the mail? Or do you need help to write a resume or a cover letter. if you have written a resume or cover letter, bring it in and a tutor will check it over to make sure it says what you want it to say. we will not write it for you; we will just help you edit.

Parents and children (aged 5—12) have a snack and speak English as they learn together.  Families will work on English conversation, reading, computer and other skills they want to improve.  Free.
Priority given to newcomers.

Stop smoking with QuitCore, a free Alberta Health Services (AHS) tobacco-cessation program. Led by trained cessation professionals, the QuitCore program is a 6-week group course that teaches tobacco users how to develop a plan to quit while providing strategies to address recovery symptoms, manage stress and, ultimately, prevent relapse.

Are they in grades 4-6?

Sign them up for Mini-Tech Heads! This is a tech program that explores technology in all its forms including: circuits, basic coding, website design, game creation, robotics, and 3D printing.
Mini-Tech Heads is on a rotating schedule.

WINTER ITINERARY: Circuitry
January 10: Circuitry basics.
January 17: Build a simple house, light it up with a series circuit.
January 24: Design a larger building for circuit city, design a corresponding parallel circuit.
January 31: Construct your building, light it up with your parallel circuit.
February 7: Free build and design.
February 14: Finale: connect and light up all of circuit city.
This is a FREE and REGISTERED program.
