Ready, Set, Read! pairs children who can read and are attending grades 1-3 with youth volunteers attending grades 4-12. This twice-weekly program runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 - 11:00 am. The Reader and Volunteer share 40 minutes of reading time, with the last 20 minutes spent in a fun group activity.

We are looking for enthusiastic Readers and energetic Volunteers for Ready, Set, Read! which begins Tuesday July 3.

Location: Friends Place Meeting Room (The Crossings Branch)

PLEASE NOTE: Registration for Readers may be limited. Ready, Set, Read! is not suitable for children with learning/reading disabilities. All participants must be mature enough to attend without adult accompaniment.

Join us on Tuesday mornings and get creative with some colouring. This is a self-directed program that is fun for all ages. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us for an interactive program for children with autism and other developmental differences. Featuring songs, rhymes, and stories for children and their caregivers.

Join the library and CKXU to learn about community radio!

This four day workshop will teach you everything you need to know to get started in radio, and at the end, you'll get to go on air!

All sessions will be at The Crossings Branch from 2-4pm. Program is open to teens starting grades 7-12 in September.

You must pre-register and be able to attend all four afternoons.

Bring the outside into the library. Have fun with an exciting mix of activities! Learn how to hula hoop, enjoy a visit from the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, build your own cardboard car and go to a "drive-in" movie, and more! Fun for all ages.
*Program starts early at 1:00 pm on Tuesday August 7.

Led by trained cessation professionals, the QuitCore program is a 6-week group course that teaches tobacco users how to develop a plan to quit while providing strategies to address recovery symptoms, manage stress and, ultimately, prevent relapse.
