Definitely Not Plato Book Club
Monday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m.
Pittoyiss Area at the Lethbridge Public Library (Main Branch)

Join one of Lethbridge's longest running book clubs, Definitely Not Plato, as they discuss the book The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See.

Book Summary: Set largely on the remote Korean island of Jeju, THE ISLAND OF SEA WOMEN follows Young-sook and Mi-ja, girls from strikingly different backgrounds who bond over their shared love of the sea. Working in their village’s all-female diving collective, the two friends come of age in a community where gender roles are anything but typical. Here, women are the primary breadwinners, the heads of household in all but name, and yet, as Mi-ja and Young-sook come to realize, there are limits to their control that can prove devastating.

September is all about Highland Romance!

A sub-genre of historical romance that has taken on a life of its own. Are you a fan of Diana Gabaldon, Maya Banks, or Julia Garwood’s historical romance books? How about the beautiful Scottish landscape? Or the Scottish brogue or kilt? If so, come join us at 7:00pm Monday September 13th 2021 at the main branch to talk about what you love about Highland Romance!
