Venue: Piitoyiss (Main Branch)

A young mother's extended love note to a city's storied and notorious neighbourhood.

Join the library as we host author Carrisa Halton, who will be delivering a talk entitled: "Lessons on Community from My Misunderstood Neighbourhood," which draws from her new book.

Carissa Halton's debut book, Little Yellow House: Finding Community in a Changing Neighbourhood tells the stories of community life in a notorious Edmonton neighbourhood. It is a book of stories that explore issues of neighbourhood and community in the face of crime, fear, and slow revitilization. Threaded through this collection of essays are questions about the social and economic forces that shape and reshape our cities.

The presentation will include both an author reading and an audience question period. Copies of Little Yellow House will be available for sale.
