Moving Forward

Are you looking for a job? Moving Forward is a new class that could help you find and keep that job.

This is what you will learn over 20 weekdays (9 a.m. - 1 p.m.):

• What Canadian employers expect of their employees and what it is like working here
• Reading and writing skills that are needed in the workplace
• Computer basics or math skills

  As well, you will:

• Learn about places that can help you find a job
• Be paired with a local employer who will talk to you about your resume and give you a mock interview

  If you need help with reading or writing, we will pair you with a volunteer tutor for 2-3 hours per week during the class. If you wish, you can continue meeting with your tutor when Moving Forward ends.

  Registration begins: March 1, 2021

  Class Dates: April 12 - May 7, 2021

  Limited to: 15 students

  Registration Fee: no fee

  To take this class, you must be:

• An adult at age of 20+
• below grade 10 or CLB 7
• Looking for a job
• Have device (computer, laptop, phone) with wifi. We may be able to assist with devices.
