Updates on our response to COVID-19 and changes to service

Please note: public libraries in Alberta are part of the Province's Phase 2 Relaunch Strategy. As you will appreciate, the planning around this will be complex, and we will be carefully evaluating our service levels. Our top priority will always be to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers. Please check back regularly for updates.

Lethbridge Public Library has been closely monitoring the developments related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). This has been a constantly evolving situation, and we are working in collaboration with our City officials to ensure Lethbridge Public Library practices reflect new information as it is made available.

All branches of the Lethbridge Public Library – Main Branch, Crossings Branch, and Bookmobile – are closed until further notice.

Are the Book Drop Boxes open?

Yes, there is one Book Drop open at the Main Branch and Crossings Branch. If you have items to be returned to the:
Main Branch: drop in the book return located at the children’s department entrance
Crossings Branch: drop in the return slot located at the south entrance (Britannia Blvd. W.)

What do I do with materials I currently have on loan?

If you have materials currently on loan, loans will be extended until we reopen and late fees will be waived.

Can I still place holds?
Please visit our Curbside Pick Up How To Instructions on our main page for information on requesting books at this time.

Can I still request interlibrary loans?
Interlibrary loan requesting and lending has been suspended.

What do I do if my membership is about to expire
If your membership is about to expire, it will be extended.

What if I’ve forgotten my PIN?
Click on the “Forgot Your PIN” link on the login page to reset your PIN.

What if I am having trouble logging into PressReader, hoopla, or Libby?
If you’re having trouble logging into these electronic services, check out our tutorials below.

Can I talk to someone from the Library?
For the time being, customer support and information services will continue to be available from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Monday - Saturday) and 12 - 5 (Sunday). You can reach our staff through our website or by calling 403-380-7330 (Main Branch) or 403-320-4037 (Crossings Branch).

When will the Library reopen?
We will continue to monitor the ongoing situation and follow the advice of our local, provincial, and federal officials.
