Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in helping Lethbridge Public Library serve our community! Check back often for seasonal volunteer opportunities that may arise.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We need you to assist us in helping adults improve their reading, writing, math, computer, or speaking skills.  Do you have skills and experiences to share in these areas? If so, this opportunity is for you!

After about 6 hours of training, you’ll be ready to start helping others. You can choose one-on-one tutoring or to teach a small class, on a day and time that works for you.  Don’t worry, we have prepared lessons you will use with your student(s), and Read On staff are here to support you.

For the full Tutor Job Description, click here.  You can fill out the Tutor Application form if you click here.  For more information, please call 403-320-4701 or email us at readon@lethlib.ca

Our Homebound volunteer-led program allows patrons of the library to gain the ability to access library materials when they cannot physically visit our library branches. Interested applicants must be 18+ years old, have access to reliable transportation, be capable of using the library’s online catalogue, and must conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. This commitment will require 2 hours or volunteer work every 3-4 weeks and can make an incredible difference in a recipient’s life.

All Homebound volunteers are required to submit a recent (within 6 months) Police Information Check.*

For more information on the volunteer position, please click here: HB Volunteer Role Description. To view the application for this position, please click here: HB Volunteer Application Form

For more information about the Homebound program, please call (403) 359-6497.
