Membership

To get a Lethbridge Public Library card, all you need is a piece of ID with your name and current Lethbridge address.

  • If you are 12 years old or under, bring your adult guardian with you or download our Juvenile Membership form and bring it into any LPL branch
  • If you’re between 13 and 18 years old, you can use your student identification card, driver’s license, or have your parents verify your address.
  • If you’re 18 years of age or older, you can apply for a card online

There is no fee to get a Lethbridge Public Library card for 2024 if you live in Lethbridge!

Did you know you can use your Lethbridge Public Library card at any Chinook Arch member library? You can return your items at any Chinook Arch library!

Lending Periods

  • DVD/Blu-rays, magazines, Video games - 7 days
  • Books, audio materials, toys, physical literacy kits – 3 weeks

Lethbridge Public Library is fine free, focusing on recovering library materials versus charging monetary fines. Please note this applies to Lethbridge Public Library cardholders only. Local library policies apply for customers whose home membership is with another library.

Renewing Your Membership

Annual renewal is required to ensure your address and contact information are current. To do this, you can call, visit in person or renew online.

Replace your card

If you’ve lost your LPL card, contact us to let us know and then come into any LPL branch to get a new card – it’s free.

Forgot Password

You can reset your PIN online, by giving us a call, or by visiting any LPL branch.
